Nostalgia
I am frequently nostalgic. Mostly for home in Virginia Beach, or Paris, and sometimes for places I've never even been. Is that possible? Yesterday I stopped into Saturdays to look at some surfboards and smell some surf wax, just because it was freezing out and I wanted a reminder of home.
This morning, I stumbled upon Fashion Film, a spoof video created for the launch of Viva Vena, a lower-priced line by Vena Cava. The video stars Lizzy Caplan (total girl crush — I mean, have you seen Bachelorette?) who looks totally cool and effortless. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about this video that makes me feel nostalgic and also gives me a good laugh.

Wishful Wednesday: Fashion Week edition
Happy NYFW, everyone! I'm fortunate enough to go to a few shows and events this week, which will be a great networking opportunity for me. And I need a few trusty items to see me through.
This shirt dress from Prabal Gurung for Target. It comes out on Sunday!
NARS Dressed to Kill lipstick for it's appropriate name.
Kiehl's Cryste Marine eye treatment so I can eliminate dark circles from sleep deprivation.
The ever-popular Smythson journal for notes during shows.
Bumble and Bumble Seaweed shampoo and conditioner, because I need a mild, everyday wash this week. Can't go to Lincoln Center with greasy hair!
What are you wishing for this week?

Friday favorites
I'm so looking forward to this weekend. I love weekends when all of my friends can get together, and there's no better occasion than the little Super Bowl shindig we're hosting at our house on Sunday. I'm thrilled my Ravens made it this far, and what could be better than a Beyonce halftime show? Happy weekend, everyone!

Beach hair
I would really love to thank Mary-Kate and Ashley, as well as Rachel Zoe and Kate Bosworth, for making it acceptable for girls with thin, frizzy blonde hair to be cool. For years I struggled with styling this mane of mine. I scrunched, straightened and curled, but nothing worked. When sea salt spray became I hot item, I gave it a shot and found it to be the perfect product for my styling needs. It's light enough to not make my thin hair look greasy, yet firm enough to actually give me some waves. Here are a few of my favorites:
